Top event rider Jeanette Brakewell will be signing copies of her new book, 'Over To You, Britain’s Eventing Legend', on The British Horse Society’s stand at Burghley Horse Trials, 4-7 September.

Over To You is the most medalled horse in British Eventing history. Ridden by Jeanette throughout his career the pair have won four European Team Gold medals, two Olympic Team Silver Medals, one World Team Bronze medal, and in 2000 an Individual World Silver medal, as well as finishing in the top 10 at Badminton fiver times.

This new book, Over To You, Britain’s Eventing Legend, is packed with colour photographs and charts his life, from his birth in Ireland to his retirement from competition in 2008, at the age of 20.

Jeanette will be visiting the BHS stand daily to sign copies of the book and greet fans. Times will be arranged on the day and anyone who would like to see Jeanette is advised to pop in to stand A2 for confirmation.

Renowned natural horseman Richard Maxwell will also visiting the BHS stand to sign copies of his new book, ‘Maximise your Horsemanship’. Click here for more information.

The British Horse Society's show stand incorporates BHS merchandising – including the UK's biggest equestrian bookshop. The shop offers an extensive range of horsy merchandise which includes everything from inspiring biographies to fun stationary for school.

BHS staff members are available on the stand throughout the event to offer advice on a whole host of subjects, including welfare, safety, obtaining BHS qualifications and BHS membership.

BHS Outraged

Lost WaysThe British Horse Society expressed its outrage at recommendations by Natural England to move away from researching and claiming individual unrecorded ways.

The BHS believes that "Discovering Lost Ways" still has the potential to add many much-needed equestrian rights of way to the Definitive Map.

This is despite the abject failure of Government agencies in the first seven years of the initiative to add any new ways to the Definitive Map.

The BHS's Director of Access, Safety and Welfare Mark Weston said:

We are bitterly disappointed that the recommendation by Natural England is to scrap the project.  This is a kick in the teeth for horse riders - just like their stance on coastal access.
